April 2011 Greece & Turkey Photos

Sunset over Istanbul, Turkey.

Karen and a sleeping Rhys before the Sultan Ahmed Mosque, popularly known as the 'Blue Mosque', in Istanbul, Turkey.

Me riding a rented moped to the highest public access road on the island of Mykonos.

Karen and I at random gourmet restaurant La Luna on a lonely beach on the leeward side of Mykonos.

Me on the fantail of the good ship Cristal steaming towards Santorini. Now you know why the Chinese
foot masseuse called me "monkeyu" . . .

Karen, Rhys, and me in front of the Library of Ephasus in Turkey.

Old Andy and Cheri on the sloop Poseidon. In the background is the Cristal and the clifftop city of Thira. Santorini.

Desperately swimming back to the Poseidon. I'm the bald head facing you third from the left.

Thira, Santorini. In the mid-ground right you can see the zig-zag donkey trail down to the harbor.
Temple of Poseidon on Cape Sounion an hour or so south of Athens, Greece.
Karen and Rhys in front of The Parthenon on the Athenian Acropolis.
And that's about it. There were about a hundred more pictures, but these are some of the best, I thought. Great trip, Rhys was amazingly well-behaved, Karen and I had a fantastic time, and we saw all sorts of wonderful sights.
Itinerary: Piraeus, Greece; to Istanbul, Turkey; to Izmir, Turkey; to Mykonos, Greece; to Kusadasi, Turkey (Ephasus); to Patmos, Greece; to Santorini, Greece; to Crete, Greece; to Piraeus/Cape Sounion/Athens.
